LJUNGBY - THE END

So we got to the last stop of our tour and that means Ljungby.
We had a change of hotel because someone at the first hotel had heard that we use to thrash hotelrooms.... ha ha ha... yeah, right.

However, after a nice dinner we go backstage and play some cards and guitarhero.
It´s sad that the tour has come to an end but at the same time it´s nice with vacation during christmas and new years eve.

More than 1700 people got to "Garvaren" tonight and it was a loud crowd.
Too bad that fu***ng DJ played songs by Carola Häggqvist over and over again all night. Geeeez... why didn´t anyone kick his ass?
Yesterday was a good gig and so is this one.

We played for about one hour and we were soaked with sweat afterwards.
I saw that the security guys had to lift a couple of people over the securityfence but I hope no one got hurt.

Thank you all for this year.
Hopefulle we´ll see you again soon.

We wish you all a lovely christmas and a happy new year.

STILL BRONZE

Curly sue is still number 3 on Tracks.
Help us get to number one by voting HERE.
Thanx.

KALMAR

Kalmar is a lovely place as usual!
A mighty fine crowd tonight.
when 1500 people are singing along it sounds just beautiful (hear it for yourself below)
For the first time in a couple of weeks everything works out just fine with soundcheck and everything.
Tonights "crowdwarmer", CRAZY LIXX puts on a show and by the time we´re up on stage the audiance is hotter than hell.

The afterparty was also very nice... that is until ´lil D threw suckerpunches around. ha ha.
Check out his lizzardskills below.

Thanx Kalmar.
We´d like to come back here if it´s ok with you?
Springbreak again perhaps?

ÄLVDALEN

Not far from Sälen is Älvdalen.
It seems to be out in the middle of nowhere but there´s like 1700 people at the gig tonight!!
We have even more technical problems at todays soundcheck and this weekend is easily the darkest of all when it comes to soundcecks on this tour.

I get to eat my first plate of christmas dinner this winter and boy it´s easy to overfeed... he he.
Stuffed we head back to the hotel where some of us enjoy the jacuzzi while others hits the sack.
This is a good arrangement and like I said, there´s alot of kids here.
I dare to say that this is the best gig this weekend and our lightningmaster, Goran, makes a spectacular lightshow.
Thanx Älvdalen, we´ll see you again.
//Tomas

SÄLEN

Thursday:
We have a day off today but it takes almost all day to drive from Luleå to Sälen so when we finnaly get there it´s just to check in, grab some food, drink about 50 drinks and get to bed!
Friday:
We get up early for some breakfast and the remains of the day is mostly spent on the bed.
Too tired to sleep though. Damn it.
There´s another painful soundcheck this afternoon but tonights dinner is really something extra! We like.
The gig is also better than the one we did last night.
There´s still problems with the sound but not as much as yesterday.
The show is over in one hour and then party and sleep.
I would like to thank the staff at högfjällshotellet for being so kind to us.
It means alot and we really appreciate it. Thanx alot!
//Tomas

LULEÅ

Another long trip in our tourbus before we get to Luleå.
There´s barely no time to chill before we have to be at Pontushallen for a soundcheck.
The big hall makes it difficult to get a classy sound.
Disappointed at the sound we go for a nice dinner at a restaurant nearby.
When we get back to Pontushallen we get to see the video for Curly Sue.
It looks mighty fine I tell ya.
Before we hit the stage there´s summoning of energy and focus... a focus that´s instantly shattered once we´re up on stage!
It sounds even worse than before!!
It´s almost halfway through the set before we´re fully back on track.

People up north seems to have a much more laid back and cool attitude at concerts. They just stand there with their arms crossed really listening to every note played while people in the south gets more lively and jump around.
This somewhat diffrent gig is over and we head back to the hotelbar for cold beers and Bloody M´s.
Good night.

ARVIKA

The crowd was good, that´s it.
//Tomas

KRISTIANSTAD

After a looong drive we finally get to Kristianstad.
We get nice hotelrooms and after a OK lunc, things is about to get even better...

The girls at the beautysaloon Xclusive
completly made our day with diffrent massages and hairstyling!
They also prepared with lots of snacks and chilled champagne (and other cold beverages)!
I recommend you pay them a visit if you can.
This felt sooo good after the long busdrive and there´s not enough words to explain how much we appreciated it.
Thank´s again!!!

Then we head over to the place for tonights gig.
It´s a very diffrent stage this time. It´s actually built 4 meters up in the air!
It looks awesome but it´s a little bit hard to get good sound in places like this.
After the soundcheck it´s back to the hotel for a quick but tasty dinner before we have to get back for preformance.

The place is full and it feels great!
We get some good response from the audiance and when we get to the end of our show the crowd is really singing along.
Tonight is a little bit special.
-We´re shooting the final shots for "Curly Sue" video here tonight if you don´t mind, Robert says and the crowd goes completly nuts!!

We played the song 1&1/2 time extra just to be sure there would be some usable material there. I´m sure there was.
Thanx all you guys for making so much noise! ha ha.
Take care
//Tomas

VIDEOSHOOT

Thursday:
Today we begin the vidoerecording of our latest single "Curly Sue".
You all know that it SOUNDS good... Now it has to LOOK good too!?
However, it´s up to Anders Rune and the guy´s at FAMILY PLANNING to make that happen.
They made the latest video to a Swedish band called Neverstore.
The day begins a little off because we overslept an halfhour but we got there fast and I don´t think it mattered that much.
After getting dressed we got out to Djurgården where the first outdoor shot is supposed to take place.
However, the rain is pouring down and we don´t want to ruin our backline so we don´t stay here for very long.
(actually the King´s men drove us off)
a couple of shots is taken on a freezing Robert and then we head on to the next place.
The five of us line up and some more shots are taken.
By now everyone is hungry so we head back to Cosmos Studios for lunch and most of the remaining shots.
We´re playing the song in a studio environment and it looks really cool.
After some sweet scenes between the sheets it´s time to wrap it up for today.

Everything works out just fine and we are very excited to see the complete video soon.
Thanx guys for a job well done!

SUNDSVALL

10 days ago we had to cancel a gig in Avesta because of a bankrupcy.
We got a new gig in sundsvall instead.
With lack of time to promote the gig and alot of other arrangements in town we got nervous.
It went pretty well after all!!

About 500 people came to see us tonight. that´s not bad at all.
We had a great party afterwards and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Stadshuset for their great support and service.
You guys are awesome and you do a great job! See you soon.
That goes for all of ya!
//Tomas

Read some articles HERE and HERE and HERE.

FALUN

Back in Falun again.
I remember a long time ago when we played here.
We got here in a white Mazda 626 and it wasn´t comfortable at all.
We also got a flat tire on the car and it was quite a trip!

This time we arrive in our beautiful Bus.
No flat tires and a whooole lot more comfort.
That´s why the bus is our backstage area this gig... the local we´re playing in is freeeeezing and the backstage area is almost non-existent.
We do a soundcheck before we get to our hotel in Borlänge!

After dinner we just hang out on our rooms.
There´s time for a couple of beers and a bloody mary before we have to get back to magasinet in Falun.

The local is still freezing. damn.
Plan Three tries to warm things up but it´s a mission impossible. They do a good job trying at least.

So, it´s time for us to get up on stage...
The intro is rolling... the crowd is screaming... then there is... NOTHING!
Mattias guitaramp gave up. it is dead.
Our backlinetechnician restarted it and it´s alive again.. thank God.
2 tracks later it´s time for my guitaramp to give up!!
The worst thing is that mine dosen´t come back to life!?
We have to take in "THE OTHER ONE"... it works too but the sound is pretty far from the real deal if you know what I mean.
So here we are.. broken amps and freezing nuts!
I wanna come back to Falun and show them what we´re all about but it will have to be in the summertime because I want to keep my balls.

read about the gig HERE and
HERE.

ANOTHER HEART ATTACK!

Yeah... it´s like one month or so...
Someone must really like us since were here again right?
It´s ok, we like Gävle.
Fact is that the last time we played here alot of people couldn´t see us because the place was filled up within one hour.
There was KAOS you might say.
I guess you could say this is a extra concert for those who didn´t make it the last time.

Well...
We´re hangin out by the pool on the hotel. We eat some sushi and then it´s time to rock.
It wasn´t as much Kaos this time... it worked just fine. We even got up on stage in time. ha ha.

I hope you guy´s enjoed yourself and remember to send me pictures from the gig if there is any!! ok?
Bye for now
//Tomas

KARLSKOGA

This is the fifth time for tAKiDA in Karlsoga and the crowd is still CRAZY!!!
It was fun as it always is and if only Sweden could have won that darn game of soccer this night would have been superb.
Now it was just awesome.

ENKÖPING

This must be like the fifth or sixth time we play in Enköping.
The first time we palyed here it was at a club called "Svarta Maja".
(That was also a candidate for the smallest stage ever by the way)
Before the gig it´s relaxingtime in the pool area of the hotel and then we head on to a private gathering.
Our friends Bea and Lasse is having a party for some friends and of course we´re invited! (thanx guys!)
We stay here for an hour or so before we have to leave for the gig.

This time (like the past 3 or 4 times) we played at a place called Joar Blå. The number of people in the crowd has increased since that first time on Svarta Maja and tonight there´s over 1200 people here. Good shit.
It´s hotter than hell up on stage and it looks to me that none of you guys in the audience were freezing either.
There´s some energy in the air tonight and it´s another explosive preformance both from us, the band and you, the crowd. Thank you for your support!!
So until the next time... take care.
See ya.
//Tomas

GISLAVED

Back in Gisleparken.
Dinner, bowling and gig.
It´s a good stage and just like the last time we were here, it´s a good crowd.
We play for one hour and there´s action right from the start.
I saw some girls getting squeezed against the securityfence and it didn´t look too comfortable.
I really hope you made it thru the gig alright!?
//Tomas

BORÅS

The last time we played in Borås, the stage was 4 meters wide and 3 meters deep.
I belive that still holds the record for the smallest stage we´ve ever played on.
This time we´re playing in a place called X o Y.
Someone says it´s an old churchlocal. It´s a much better stage anyway.

We´re staying at comfort hotel jazz which is a decent hotel.
Wall to wall with the hotel is a small restaurant/pub and all the hotelguests eat their breakfast here. We learned that the female version of Satan works here.
I couldn´t see her horns but I´m pretty sure she had a tail!
She was, by far, the grumpiest lady we´ve ever encountered.

Much much better however was the place for tonight´s dinner.
We ate at a place called Zeus.
It´s a delicious Greek restaurant with tasty food and cute personnel.
I ate a squid for starter. It looked like a rubberballoon but I assure you it tasted alot better.
However, I highly recommend this place.

XoY is sold out tonight and the manager is amazed that there´s a line outside 2 hours before the place opens.
It have never happened before he says.
This is a good sign.

When we´re up on stage later this night I can only say that Borås has the loudest audience we´ve had so far!! Wonderful!!
The room we play in has 2 floors so it´s a bit tricky to get a good sound in here but I hope it came out alright.
We had another good gig and I wouldn´t mind coming back here again.
Thanx a bunch.

Oh, I got to write this conversation I had with a man in a kiosk regarding a interview I did in Borås tidning.
It was Saturday and I was looking for Fridays copy where the interview was supposed to be.
Anyway. here it is:

-hey man, do you by any chance sell "Borås tidning"?
- Well... no, not today.
- OK not today you say but do you have yesterdays copy?
- No, I get it tomorrow...

I rest my case.

HELL...SING...BORG

Helsingborg is a beautiful place indeed and The Tivoli is a perfect club for rock.
Since the last time we were here they´ve made the stage bigger and now it´s actually good.

We ate some Indianfood and some of us had to meassure the size of their "cojones" by ordering the strongest food on the menu... resulting in long fiery visits on the toilet. ha ha.
Luckily they had some cold beers to cool down the tounge with right?

Half past 9 and it´s showtime.
The place is packed with a beautiful crowd.
Halfway through the gig someone must have crapped their pants!
The smell of shit is everywhere!! I feel sorry for that poor fellow anyway.

It´s a good gig and the crowd is singing loud. we love it!!

Is it ok with you if we come back here some day?

GOTHLAND

We took a motocrosscrowded boat over to Visby and Gutekällaren.
It´s actually our 3:rd time on this little island in the south and I must say that I prefer Visby in the summertime.
As usual we get a nice welcome with tasty dinner, cold beverage and some damn fine looking hotelrooms.

It´s a warm and crowded Gutekällaren that lies before us this evening.
The atmosphere is pleasant and it looks like this could be very fun.
It is.

Another good gig and another fantastic crowd.
Thanx for letting us preform here again and hopefully we´ll be back once again!?

HUDIKSVALL

The last time we played here it ended in KAOS and this time dosen´t start out that great either.
When we get to the hotel there´s no hotelrooms booked for us!
There was 11 rooms booked but somehow they got lost along the way.
When you´re out touring these things just have to work because we don´t have the time OR energy to take care of it.
Luckily we came to a solution and there was no hard feelings afterwards.

The soundcheck gets strenuous because of the odd shape of the local.
It´s like sitting in a box. Only bass and loud noises.

After dinner we kick back to relax a few hours before we get up on stage again.
We talked about the last time we were here and how they had to lift people over the security fence constantly.
With this in mind I guess we took it a little bit easier with the rocking. It would be so nice if we could preform a whole show for you people. Tonight we did.

After the gig we were sooo hungry.
They didn´t have any food left on the hotel because of a brooken freezer so we went down to the fast-food-corner for some pizzas and burgers. Happy happy joy joy.

Most of us got to sleep before 04.00 so it was a nice and calm evening.
Take Care and we´ll meet again.
//Tomas

UPPSALA

We got much nicer hotelrooms today!
Even though it feels like we´ve played in every town in Sweden, this is our first gig in Robert´s town of birth, Uppsala!
The place for tonights action is called, Lotus, a nice and small nightclub.

We get a nice welcome and together with a couple of beers, everything feels great!
Our Lightningmaster, Goran, has built this amazing "Joybox" with everything in it... There´s a Refrigerator, Nintendo Wii, Xbox etc etc... this keeps us entertained almost before every gig and this night is no diffrent.

Minutes before we are supposed to get up on stage we get the information that we have to wait for like 20 minutes because of a huge fight upstairs.
Then when we actually got up on stage, little would we know that this gig would be the craziest in a looong time!!
It all begins when I make a nice jump in the intro to "Evil Eye" and when I land, the floor dissapears below me!!
Ha ha... There´s a huge hole in the stage!
Amazingly, no one in the band saw it so when I show them, they all burst out into laughs. ha ha.
Then the drums fall apart and we have to play "Reason to cry" without a snare drum. Sounds strange but it works.
Well, it´s a crazy gig but it turns out pretty good after all coz there´s no fight during the concert.

Look at some "Vimmelbilder" HERE!

Later that night it´s partytime and also time for Goran to get rid of his beard. We helped him...
I have no picture of the actual shaving yet but ther will be.
Then we party ´til we sleep.

SLICK CITY!

A thursdaygig in Gävle.
We arrived in the afternoon to check-in at the hotel we´re staying at tonight.
Not a very highclass hotel I might say.
The girls in the reception was kind though.

A couple of hours to rest before we have to get to "Heartbreak" for soundcheck and delicious food.

The night comes fast and the line of people outside is growing longer for every minute.
When they open the doors it´s sold out in 15 minutes!! I hear it´s some kind of a record for this place. sweet.
Alot of people can´t get their hands on a precious ticket and irritation is growing outside.

On the inside it´s crowded, hot and steamy.
It´s almost impossible to make way through the crowd when it´s time to get up on stage.
But we get there and the show is on!

This crowd is even louder than the one last weekend so there´s no problem what so ever to find the energy.
A damn good gig and a beautiful crowd.
Thank you Gävle and I hope we can come back here very soon.

Read a good review HERE!

ÖSTERSUND

It´s nice to be back in Östersund.
Since I left ÖSD for Sundsvall 15 months ago I´ve neglected this cold and windy forrest beauty.
after a tasty kebab at Kebabcity we wander about the city and head back to Radisson for a swim in the pool before we get back to Folkets hus and a very nice gig.

I saw some old friends in the crowd... well... as a matter of fact... all of you crazyheads are my friends!
I promise that I will get back to ÖSD more often and freeze my nuts off.

Check out some reviews from the gig.

UMEÅ

Back in the north again.
We´ve played at the Idunteatern before and like then, we get a nice welcome.
Our technicians is putting the stage up with amplifiers, drums etc while we´re hanging out at the hotel.
After the soundcheck there´s time for a fast dinner before we have to get back to Idun.
A little while later we´re up on stage preforming.

This gig is a little bit different to what we´re used to.
Mostly because the theaterlocal is filled with chairs and half the audience is sitting down.
It´s not a bad thing... just unusual on a rock concert.
However, it´s a good gig and it was fun.
Thanx Ume for showing up tonight.

SKÖVDE

Skövde here we come!
After soundcheck there´s time for some slacking.

There´s alot of people here tonight and it seems to be a great evening.
We get up on stage and the show is on.
I tell you... SKÖVDE KNOWS HOW TO ROCK!!
It´s a damn good gig and we´re all pleased.

Afterwards we go to a local club for some drinks.
Sweet.

This was the last gig for a couple of weeks with Plan Three.
They´re all good guys and we wish them all the best in the future!

And now for something really easy.
Answer yourself these questions:

1. Do you like tAKiDA?
2. Would you like to hear more from them on the radio?
3. I wanna hear less crapmusic on the radio!

LUND

We drove for like 15 hrs straight to get here. 1100 km. A huge applause to our drivers.
Well... we can only admit that Lund is a beautiful town.

Once again we had some difficulties with the technology in the beginning of the show but I think we got into it after a couple of songs. People in the south is more calm during the preformances. They´re like really listening.
We got off stage and then there is party.

Tell me... why is people in Lund so difficult to talk to? I mean besides their accent!?
It seemed as if everyone of us had rabies or something.
If you strated a conversation with someone, they just snorted at you and walked away.

Sleep. Tomorrow is a long drive again...

STHLM

We get some sleep this morning... NOT!
It´s wakey wakey at 03.00 in the morning. YAAAWN.
We head over to TV4 to do a soundcheck.
After some breakfast we´re trying to find a spot to maybe get some rest.
No success. Linda is trashing the place =) and we´re too excited to sleep.

After shaking hands with Anders & Kristin at Nyhetsmorgon we´re up on stage preforming "Curly Sue" with Linda and Patrik.
Ernst Kirchsteiger is surprisingly a new tAKiDAfan.
After preforming "The Dread" some of us returns to the hotel for some sleep while me and Mattias is off to RADIO BANDIT for a short interview.
Then there is soundcheck and dinner.
After getting a meal everyone falls into a coma-like state of mind...

However it dosen´t last for long I tell you...
this crowd is even louder than the one in GBG!!
3500 friends of our "family" screaming is a lovely feeling!

I want to thank Plan Three for doing a good job as "pre-heaters" and also a HUGE thanx to the audiance in STHLM.
You´ve made our dreams come true!
See ya soon.
//Tomas

GBG

We´re leaving Karlstad early and head for Gothenburg wich is the place for tonight´s event.
During soundcheck we hook up with beautiful and charming violinist
LINDA LAMPENIUS
She rehearse 2 songs (Curly sue and Reason to cry) with us and I tell you... it sounds so sweet.

They open the doors to Lisebergshallen and it is filled in no time!
Plan Three heat things up tonight again and when they´re done you can almost touch the tension and the energy in the air.
We enter the stage and the audiance is completly nuts!
What a feeling.

We do our thing and when it´s time for the extras... we get both Linda Lampenius (violin) and Patrik Frisk (piano) up on stage.
I´m standing in the background and feel amazed by the crowd singing and waving along.
Goosebumps all over.

Thanx GBG for making this evening unforgettable!

AND... GO!

Karlstad is the first stop on this autumntour.
There´s a Erotic mass at Nöjesfabriken where tonights gig takes place so after a great dinner we´re there... mmmm.

It´s a "SOLD OUT" gig tonight and we´re anxious to get up on stage.
Out tour support Plan three does a good job warming the crowd up!

We´re having some technical problems but over all it was a good gig.
We love this place and hopefully we´ll be back.

there´s a party and then there is sweet sleep. ZZZZZZ

We have had vacation... YES, that´s correct. Rockers DO have vacation.
Take Mattias for example, he is on the other side of the globe right this minute.
Me myself and tess is going on a sunny vacation to a small island in the pacific.

Expect a more frequent update as fast as the tour starts in the 28:th of September.

Besides me moving to another apartment, got a new tattoo and bought a brand new car there´s nothing special going on.

We´re working on it and hopefully it will be a spectacular show.

BACK ON TRACK

I´m back again.
I´ve had almost a week vacation and it´s been great!
We played on "Havsbadet" in Lysekil in front of 1000 crazyheads. Thanx for good food and drinks.
It was a damn good gig and I hope you guys had as good time as we did.
Remember to send your pictures (if you took any) to takidazone@gmail.com.
(that goes for all of you with tAKiDA pictures by the way)

I went to a small pub in stockholm to see Kitto perform some of her favourite songs.
That means not only tAKiDA songs.
However, she did her own version of our song "Evil Eye".
Man, that sounded good. Her voice is amazing.
That combined with her beeing the sweetest gal from Australia.
I´ll try to throw in a clip from her interpretation of Evil Eye below.

AVD is still pimping our buss but it´s getting ready to go now.

Check out the new tAKiDA t-shirt on the the shop. It´s freaking awesome!!

I got a cool picture today. It was made by Niclas Johansson. Check it out.

We´re looking forward to play in Sävsjö this weekend. WE WANT SUN... No rain please.
Well... I´ll guess I´ll see you there then.

CHECK US OUT!!

Hedemora, Bollnäs and Karlskoga is coming up!
I´m looking forward to these 3 gigs.

In Hedemora, be sure to check out our homies in PLAN THREE.
They´re great and I personally just love their latest CD.

In Bollnäs you should check out MORGANA LEFAY.
Peter Grehn from Morgana Lefay did a very important add to the recording of my other bands (blowball) latest record "Phoenix".

In Karlskoga, be sure to check us out!

On Sunday I´m going to Stockholm to watch Kitto preform her own version of Takida´s "Evil Eye".
That´s going to be a blast.

I bought a record yesterday.
Bad Religion - New maps of hell.
It´s one of the best records I´ve bought so far this year.
Buy it if you like music.

Bye for now

Evil I

So, there was a couple of wrong answers due to my fuzziness in the question.
I wanted to know the length of the track "Evil Eye" on the Compilation, Played out vol.2.
The thing is this... Looking at the tracklengt in the CD it says (4:47) and if you look at the album cover it says (4:45).
So which one is the right answer???

Well, like I said...
-On the CD "Played Out vol.2" we had the original recording of the track "Evil Eye", how long is it???
That´s just about the easiest question for anyone who´s got the album cover...

I was refering to the length on the album cover!
Right answer is (4:45).

The winner is:
PERNILLA GRANSKOG
Congrats!
I´ll contact you by email.

There was 2 great gigs this weekend...
Gatufesten is always fun. The crowd is just beautiful.
Thanx alot for staying in the rain!

And then there was Arvika,,,
You guys ROCK!!
We loved every minute of it and I hope you did to.

Me and Mattias spent a few hours fixing our tourbus today.
It´s going to be great when it´s done.
Now we´re having a few days off so I´m leaving for my summerplace... again..

see ya.

EUROMASTERS

We rehearsed today.
We want to tighten our shit up for the coming shows in Sundsvall and Arvika.
There´s a rumour going around that we´re cancelling Sundsvalls Gatufest because of a broken hand.
That is just so silly...
We would play Gatufesten with broken arms if we had to.

Last weekend we played vätternfestivalen in Motala. It was great.
On the way down there we got a flat tire of our tourbus.
One phonecall later we were assisted by EUROMASTER and they fixed it right on the spot in just 30 minutes. Good job! Thanx alot. You guy´s rule.

Besides that there´s been a few more days off in the tAKiDA Camp.
I once again visited my summerplace and it´s relaxing indeed.
Soon we´ll be heading of to gatufesten to see some live music and some chilled beverage.
But first we must finish our raspberrydrinks here at home.

Do you guys want another contest?
Then tell me this:
-On the CD "Played Out vol.2" we had the original recording of the track "Evil Eye", how long is it???
That´s just about the easiest question for anyone who´s got the album cover.
All you downloaders can bite my hairy aaaaaarm.

If you know the answer to the question, mail it and your name to tomas@takida.se
You can win a takidakit. (a couple of cool takidamerch)

VACATION 34

O Boy... Home again after almost 2 weeks of vacation.
It was well needed and now the batteries are re-charged with power for the upcoming shows.
On Friday we´re playing at Vätternfestivalen.
We´re entering the stage at 19.15 and hopefulle you will be there too!?

Next week we´re playing Gatufesten for the 5:th year in a row!! Someone told me that you guys (the fans) persuade them to book us this year! That´s the spirit.
We´re also playing in Arvika at Olssons Brygga. Last time we played there it was fun like hell so we expect nothing less.

So, what did I do on my vacation you wonder?
Well, First me & Mattias went up to the northern parts of Norway with a couple of friends for some deep sea fishing in the ocean. It took one whole day to get there but it´s always worth it. We had some bad luck with the weather up there a couple of days leaving us with just one day of actuall fishing.
We got home again just in time for a meeting with the rest of the band.
This last weekend I spent with my loved ones in my summerplace and yesterday we celebrated my birthday...
I got alot of beautiful things from everyone and I love them dearly.

Today it´s guitarpractising (fun) and washing of clothes (boring) so I´ve got my hands full...
See ya.

SUMMERBURN

Last friday we did a gig in Norrtälje and it was a really nice crowd.
We had some technical problems with Mattias guitar and with Fredriks bassguitar.
After the first song "the dread" we got it to work but things like that always gets to your head.
There was a party and then there was sleep.

On saturday we went to a nearby town called Enköping.
We got our revenge here.
Once again the crowd is great but tonight we were also on fire.
Tight sound by our compadre, Hackmedh and sweet singsong really made the day.
Yes, there was a party but there was no sleep.

I went to my summerplace on monday to relax and geeez... I needed it.
It´s such a contrast to the citylife in sundsvall. It´s just wonderful.
I got burned by the sun for the first time in my life and that was NOT so wonderful.
I got bright red and I had some serious problems falling asleep that night. OUCH.

Yesterday I went downtown to look at my friends band, CORRODED. Their sound makes me think of diesel and angry machines. Very good. Be sure to check them out!
I feel like s**t today and I think I´ll head back to my summerplace for some re-creation.
Have a sweet weekend. See ya.
//Tomas

Oh, here´s some pictures from the gig in Norrtälje.
They are taken by Ulf Mickols at FITZPATRICK.

REVIEW FRENZY

So I´m back in Sundsvall after a sweeeet weekend.
30 seconds to mars was good but I´m afraid Linkin Park was the better act this time.
Apparently 30 STM´s drummer, shannon, got electrified while he was playing so they had to break after playing about 6 songs (all from the latest CD). I wouldn´t mind hearing some of the old stuff too. They also had rather poor sound but beeing a supporting act I guess that´s common.

Then there was Linkin Park... I don´t think anyone got dissappointed there.
They delivered a good fat show and I belive they got just about every hitsong in that setlist.
I thought they would move around a little bit more on stage and Chester did but the rest... they just stood there.
It sounded great though.

Saturday:
This is the softest day I´ve had in a loooooong time.
Me and my girl spent all day walking the streets of stockholm. Shopping, nice dinners and just enjoying life in the hot sun.

Sunday:
We went to Gröna Lund amusementpark for a crazy day full of carouselrides. I haven´t done this in many years and I felt like I was a kid again.

Read a short interview with me HERE.
Read a small article HERE

Read reviews of "Bury the lies" HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE.

Guitar Tabs HERE

I also found this... I don´t know what it is but... You tell me. LOOK AT THIS AND THIS?
That´s all for now.
See you soon.

NUMBER ONE!!!

So finally we did it!
Thanx to all of you precious fans we got to the top!
It feels unreal to beat a band like LINKIN PARK in sales.
I hope this will open the eyes (ears) of more listeners.
We´re actually travelling to stockholm tomorrow to watch LINKIN PARK but most of all 30 SECONDS TO MARS. Looking forward to it.

Look at this videoclip from our tormentor HERE

Once again... THANK YOU FOR BUYING "BURY THE LIES".
Take Care.

Jack, whos Kitto?

It´s been a few great and crazy days!
Lets start with,
WEDNESDAY: We´re releasing "Bury the lies" and there´s a great sold-out releaseparty on the evening.
We had a really great evening with families and good friends. We also did a short gig just for fun to heat things up!
Read more about it HERE

THURSDAY: Sleeping late today =). We´re doing a acoustic preformance at Birsta City and there´s also a crowded signing session. After a nice barbecue we´re catching a train to gothenburg.

FRIDAY: There is hardly no sleep at all on the train but we´re arriving to Gothenburg in the morning. A couple of hours later we´re up on the stage at Bengan´s playing some acoustics. Thanx Anders with staff for a good arrangement.

SATURDAY: Heading to bengan´s, Stockholm, for another session. This is probably the smallest stage we´ve ever been on but it dosen´t make it less fun. A sweet reunion with some old friends after signing a good 65 records. Always so nice Kitto swung by and said hello. Thanx for another successful event and the lovely sushidinner. We´ll be back, I promise.
We´re heading back home and my bed has never felt so lovely before.
A good week has passed and there´s alot of things going on. Expectation grows.

If you for some strange reason still haven´t bought "BURY THE LIES"... do it. HEEEEEEREEEEEE

That´s about it. Bye for now.

PIMPING

Me, Mattias and Fredrik spent this day fixing some things on our tourbus.
The newly painted Volvo has got some minor beautyflaws that has to be fixed before it hits the roads again.
Fredrik and Robert has been working alot with it but there´s still some things to do.

The guys at AVD Sundsvall is pimping up the interior with some nice monitors, stereo and stuff.
THANX ALOT GUYS!
The long distance touring will be a pleasure from now on.

Im off to bed.
G´night my friends!

WHILE WERE WAITING

while we were waiting for the gig to start somebody came up with the bright idéa to paint Kristoffers mage and the damn thing started smoking by itself... I belive it´s a reicarnation of Clint Eastwood.

Yes, we´re silly.

NEWS

I´m so sorry for not updating the blogg more often!
There´s alot to do now in these "releasing Record" times.
However...
you guys should check out our new updated myspace page HERE.
Tell me you have preordered "bury the lies"??
If you didn´t there´s still a chance you can get a limited copy of it HERE
or a standard copy HERE
or HERE
or HERE.

we we´re in the hands of voters in finnish radio NRJ today.
In a couple of days we will find out if the finns like our single "Jaded" that was released over there last week.
Since we beat them in hockey the other day maybe we can´t expect too much right?? he he.

With only like one week left to release it feels pretty exciting.

Furthermore I can tell you that I´ve seen a couple of movies the past few days.
Spiderman 3 was a disappointment I must say. 2 out of 5 would be my grade.
Sunshine was another sucker. 2 out of 5 on this one too.
Don´t spend your money on them at the movies.
They´ll soon be out on DVD.
That reminds me of a little something I want help with...
Is there anyone out there that´s willing to sell me their dvd copy of an old Norwegian TV show called "Bröderna Dahl och Professor drövel´s hemlighet"? let me know ok?

That´s all for now.

POSSESSED

Robert is almost done adding vocals and the songs is really taking shape now.
Me and Mattias added some chorus to a couple of tracks today and it sounds like any song by Def Leppard.

We´re really looking forward to play the bandit boat together with
LILLASYSTER, BLOWSIGHT, THE BANDIT METALIZERS and SONIC SYNDICATE.
It will be alot of fun. and beer.
But mostly fun.
Or beer.

About today´s clip:
Robert told us about a strange feeling or more like a "out-of-body experiance" when he came out of the singingbooth.
-Yeah, like I was possessed he says.
Nah, seriously... he didn´t.
But it actually sounds like it if you listen to the clip below.
I´ve got some lyrics to write now. Sleep tight. (if it´s possible after watching this)

ONE MORE CLIP

So... I added this clip instead.
It´s´a short one, I know, but hey... the size dosen´t matter!

I nearly got blind today! TWICE!!!
First, a guitarstring pinched me like 2 mm from my eye and then my (lovely) girlfriend got some shampoo home from work (Sax o Kam) and when I was supposed to smell it the damn thing squirted in my eye! It still hurts like hell hours after the accident!
Yes, Selfpity is allowed in this blog.

So after seeing the crappiest movie ever (Familj på väg) with robin williams I´m heading for bed.
Enjoy the clip.
Good night.

SINGING TIME

Robert started with the vocals on monday afternoon and continued today.
It sounds great and there´s some strong lyrics coming your way.

I´m sure by now you all know that "Halo" is available in every store right?
It´s been picked up by Swedish Radio P3 already and will hopefully be heard alot.

I don´t understand why the videoclips dosen´t work!
I´ve tried to upload them several times with diffrent settings but no... the damn clips just wont work!!
I will try to catch robert on video tomorrow and try to throw it in here later.

Well... gotta go to sleeeeeeeep.

This time mattias is shredding some high notes for the end of a new track.
It´s filmed with a mobile phone so have understanding for the poor quality.

Me and my girlfriend is making our own sushi this evening. It´s going to be delicious.
Take care.

A photographer named Thorleif drove up from Stockholm to take our pictures.
It turned out really great or don´t you think we look smooth on the pictures down below?

There´s also a couple of pictures from the studio.
We added some more guitar this morning. 10 tracks is more or less finished now and there still a couple of songs to go.
Robert will begin adding some vocal tracks next week and then we´re ready to rock!

HALFWAY THERE

Mr Me & Mattias added some more guitar today.
We´re more than halfway thru the process of recording guitars now and it´s getting heavier by the minute!

I´m slowly learning how to add pictures and movies to this blog so it will be a bit more alive.
This clip is taken from the recording of our latest single "Halo".

Yeah it´s short, I know, but like I said... it´s because I´m still learning! =)
By the way... I saw a car that I must have today. It´s a Dodge Caliber, bloodred. Hot wheels. Must have.

Take care.

EASTER ACTION

So it´s monday again and we´re heading to the studio for more guitar-recording.
Hopefully, most of the guitars will be done this week.
I know that I promised you pictures from the last recordingsession but the battery in my camera was dead. However I took some pictures with my phone as you can see underneath.

I hope you guys had a nice weekend with lots of eggs and candy (candyeggs).
Me and mattias preformed with our other band, blowball, in Ånge.
It was a good gig even though we hadn´t rehearsed in one year!!! yes, ONE YEAR!!!
I didn´t remember all them lyrics that good but who cares anyway?? ha ha.

I haven´t bought a CD now for a while and that is very unlike me! I often buy 2-4 CD´s every month.
I belive machine heads latest will be my next buy.
I saw a couple of movies this weekend but man what a collection of poor movies that was.
Epic Movie... the trailer is funny but the movie stank.
Guess Who... a comedy? with ashton kutcher. a movie about racial issues and not funny at all.
Happy Feet... a cute movie about a dancing pinguine. I´m too old for this.

Well, I should be getting ready for the studio now.
Take care and I´ll be in touch!

Stringbenders

Me and Mattias recorded some nasty guitars today!
MAN those ENGL amplifiers sound great!!
We really got some heavy s**t going on this time.
Even though it went smoothly today, there´s still a looong way to go before we can wrap it up.

Halo was supposed to be released on the internet yesterday (digital single) but further delays makes it undownloadable for a few more days. The physical single is due to be released the 16:th this month. However I´m pretty sure you guys already heard it on radio bandit right?

I saw the movie "300" yesterday and it was cool. Pretty much a "dude movie" because there´s alot of slaying and headchopping scenes. Nice shots and frank miller is a genious.

tomorrow I´ll throw in a couple of pictures from the studio so stay tuned!

Elements Music has been taking good care of us all the time and the hotel stay has been great. Thanx a bunch.
Last night we did a gig at a place called Liberté.
It wasn´t too crowdy but we did our thing and hopefully they liked it.
We´ve also made a couple of interviews for radio and TV.
It´s thursday today and we´re going back to sweden in a couple of hours.
Hopefully we can come back to Finland again.

Once again... thank you Jani, Tommi, Frida and Jussi for putting up with us! =)

hallo halo

Our producer is done mixing the new single "halo" and hopefully it will be "buyable" on the net within 2 weeks. It´s a long time, I know, but I assure you... It´s worth waiting for!
I´ve been working together with a girl called Lina Rehnstedt (www.spizz.se) in the making of the cover for the new single and I have to say it´s a beauty. (yes, I´m allowed to brag in this blog)
All you hardcore fans recognize her name of course... She´s been involved in the covermaking in the past making the cover for Takida - Takida and she also helpd me out in the making of the T2 cover.
(and all you EXTRA HARDCORE SUPERFANS know all about the "Played Out" covers... right?)

However... if your CD needs a great cover, be sure to check her out.

I also would like to congratulate MoDo for their advance to the semifinals.
I´m pretty sure we´ll see MoDo against Färjestad in the finals. Like it or not.
Personally, I wish Timander will strike down with furious anger upon his enemies in HV71!

Well... that´s it for today. Good night my friends.

All the bassguitar is recorded (good job pålle) and now the guitars is up next.
We´re waitng for our new guitaramplifiers (engl) to arrive and then all hell will break loose!
Later this evening I´m going to watch a really tight and exciting game of hockey. Timrå meets MoDo and it should be pretty intense.
Bye for now

Still no releasedate for the new single.

Enter the studio

We enter the studio today!
Our producer is going to work the tracks together with us to see if there´s any changes that has to be done.
We also decide which tracks is going on the album and who´s not.
It´s going to be a great day!

Back home again...
11 songs produced today.
There wasn´t too many changes in the tracks and the recording will begin tomorrow.

I broke my toe yesterday!
I don´t know the name on toes but it´s the toe next to the smallest one.
It´s all blue and soon the same size as the bigtoe!
I gotta go and wrap it up in som tape now.
So until tomorrow... take care!

blood, sweat & tears

Another day of rehersals!
The recording is closing in and we want the new songs to sound as good as they get so there is blood, sweat and tears in the air! There´s a couple of changes in the songs and alot of lyrics to write but we´re so anxious to get started now. The new single will be released in a couple of weeks so hang in there! The name of the single is a 4 letter word... if you can guess what it is, you will win my toothbrush. The little drummerboy (Kristoffer) has made us some pasta so I better go now. Bye!

a long time ago...

Monday morning... (yaawn)
It´s been very calm now for a couple of days in the world of Takida.
Good news is that Mattias and Robert is feeling better. I still get the chill when I see that demolished car!

We´re spending this week in Fränsta, rehersing the new material.
Latest news about the studio is 19:th of mars!

Wednesday, February 21, 2007

Bad News x 2

Bad news No. 1:
I guess most of you have heard it already...
Singer Robert and guitarrist Mattias was involved in a serious carcrash yesterday!
Luckily they both came out of it with abatement damages. Bruises and stiff necks they say. The car was totally smashed in the front. (see picture)
Image Hosting by Picoodle.com

Bad News No.2:
Further delays in the recording of the new album! Producer, Patrik Frisk, is currently working with "melody teacher", Marie Lindberg, causing almost a month delay in our recording scheme. However, the release of the new album is still going to be before the summer so we´ll just have to catch up once we´ve started!
Hopefully this will leave us with some time to write a few extra hits! So maybe there will be something positive out of it after all?

Take care.
Until next time... Seven is the key.
// Tomas.

Another Day

According to Patrik Frisk (our producer), the recording will hopefully begin next week!

Mattias spoke with Suomi Finland today regarding our promotour over ther at the end of March. Everything seems nice and we´re anxious to get over there.
However, we already consider ourselves masters of the Finnish language. Here´s a few examples to what we know:
Hirvi aita = Moosefence
Hyvää Päivää = Hello
Pelata Musiiki = Play Music
Juoma = Drink
Olut = Beer
syödä = Eat
Nukkua = sleep
That´s it!! What else is there to learn? =)

Nuthin´ much

Sunday... man it´s boring.
Why couldn´t there be two Saturdays instead?
All you do on Sundays is to stare at the clock wishing there was no tomorrow.
However, I was invited to a nice dinner yesterday. It was called "schlager buffé" with lots and lots of tasty food and beverage. We also played some guitarhero and Buzz. I can´t say that I was too impressed at yesterdays songcontest on the TV but I guess the best songs made it afterall!? Who cares anyway?
I´m taking care of the laundry today... Yes, rockers also have to wash their clothes sometimes. You don´t want to smell like a bunghole right?

I mentioned earlier that I saw "Hannibal Rising" at the movies... A disappointment I must say. I would give it 2 out of 5!

Not much on the Takidafront right now but hopefully we´ll start recording the new album within days.

Hang in there friends!

Friday

Ahhh.. weekends rule!
No rehersal today. Instead we´re working from home. I´m working on a idea for a cover to the new single. It could be pretty cool actually. Did you hear Takida on P3-Live yesterday? I´ve got some cool memories from Yran last year! That´s all for now. I´m off to the movies (hannibal rising). Sleep tight because I know I won´t... he he.

Another one to the bank!

Today we wrote another song. No title on it yet but it´s a nice soft tune with alot of feelings to it. I´m sure you guys will love it! =)
I am sorry to say that I don´t have the exact date for the release of the new single or album but we´re hoping to release the single in March and the album before the summer. However the new T-shirts is closing in and they will be available in the shop within a couple of weeks.

I Got myself some CD´s today... 10 Years, Skillet and 12 Stones. I liked the first two more I must say. well, that´s it for now. I´m the chef today so back to the kitchen... I smell something´s burning!

I´m in...

Today I woke up with a sore throat... again.
However, I just couldn´t stay home anymore.
I was far too curious about the new song they wrote yesterday and slacking around the couch had lost it´s magic. I´ve been soooo bored these past few days!

The new song was really good. A keeper for sure.
Sad news today... The recording of the new album is postponed another week! I´ll get back to you when we´re at it again!

That´s it for today!
Take care

Two good things though...
1. The guys made another song to put in our song-bank!
2. I got my new guitar from Schecter today! Man it´s a black BEAUTY!!
Check out the TEMPEST models at:

WORK!!

Robert was supposed to add some vocals to our new single today but he´s still having problems with his cold so... I guess we´ll have to wait a few more days. However, I can tell you that the new material sounds very takida-ish but with a little twist... IT´S BETTER!!!
